Re: [ST] Brake Pads



I like the Ferodo FDB557ST (street pad) or Ferodo FDB557XR (a race type pad). I used the 557ST first and liked it. When I went to replace it the guy at www.braketech.com only had the 557XR. But he said the material was the same, the XR just has a thicker backing plate (better for heat), which makes the pad a little thiner. Both types cause about $40 per caliper. The 557ST lasted 22800 miles for me.

I also used some Galfer FD099G1054 pads. They were fine, but I prefer the Ferodo. The Galfer lasted 17600 miles.

I have not replaced the 557XR pads yet.

I am not a real hard braker.
