Re: [ST] Loose rear wheel



That's what I thought at first - that there was something wrong in the front.  
 
Thanks everyone for the responses.  Duh - I've had the wheel off before and didn't think far enough to realize that the bearings are in the hub, not the rim.  I'll remove the wheel and check the dowels and other parts.
 
The free play without the cone washer isn't much - I'm guessing I can hold the tire and move the wheel 1/4 inch back and forth.
 
I'm calling the dealer this morning, and since I live 40 miles away and don't want to drive down there for a washer, I'm thinking of having them send the tech up here on a tricycle with the cone washer on a satin pillow.  ;)

Should not be a problem.Put it together with the right parts and torque that 
wheel down good. I drove with mine loose for longer than that as the noise 
was hard to chase down. Sounded like it was coming from the front--- Jim.
