I had to reply to this, to add a little "local color". I grew up in Utah and I'd like to make some observations. Yes, IMHO the "neighbors", along with some shyster lawyers, are probably out to suck the tit of the legal system for a little easy money. The target, the Millers, who own auto dealerships in 4 or 5 states, not to mention the Utah Jazz and stakes in several other high end, high dollar investments. I'm sure the "neighbors" are seeing only their money and are, so far, oblivious to their obvious political clout. Larry Miller is probably the most influential non-politician in Utah, with the possible exception of the President of the LDS Church. The Millers are being nice because they are, not because they need to be. They could crush these "neighbors" like bugs if they wanted to, and I'm sure if it comes to legal proceedings, they will.
Lastly, it is ironic to the extreme that residents of Tooele, armpit of Utah if not the entire West, are up in arms over noise on a few weekends each year when they are downwind from the largest repository of chemical WMD agents in the USA, and the site of one of only a handful of licensed facilities to decommision those chemical agents.

To say the least, this is going to be interesting.

fwiw, my son went to the AMA races last Saturday and said it was a gas. The new Miller facility is a great addition to the SLC area and I'm sure most rational people will see it that way.
