Marc,
That is bleak news but not really new. If I counted the number of near
misses I've had just from stupid car drivers I wouldn't get on my bike
again.  Then again the stats on one vehicle cycle crashes goes up every year
and far too many of those are operator error.  There are two simple rules :
the street ain't a track, ride within your capabilites (which far too many
of us over estimate).
