[ST] Silly question...

So I am putting the body on the bike, I grab the fron fairing and a cable attached to the little center light falls off. It looks to go to an LED like thingy(very technical term here) sitting next to the bulb, which is fine and still connected to its wires. Seems the leads to the thingy rusted and broke off. Anyone know what type of thingy this is and what is its function?
