I had a speed triple on loan for three days, and did a good few 100kms in
mixed riding on it.

It really, really grew on me!

I love that bike, but it doesnt make sense to have one of those when I have
a Daytona955, I'd rather go for something more Retro like the Thruxton, and
something that can handle gravel roads (Tiger 675 anyone?)

All I can say is before you write the speed triple off ride it - its quite a
bike. Below 140km/h and in traffic I reckon its the best bike by far.
