Re: [ST] Jackets and gloves

But they mention that the "waterproof, breathable liner" is between
the vents and your body, making the venting somewhat ineffective.
I'm curious if anyone has any direct experience with this style of
jacket, whether the venting will work well enough to wear the jacket
in the summer. Some of the jackets have a zip-out windproof and
waterproof liner, so I'm wondering if something like that might be
more usable.

I have been sorely tempted by the GX-Sport. I have the previous generation
GX and it's been a pretty good jacket for me. It's venting is good up to
80-85 when constantly moving. But it does not have the waterproof liner,
only sealed on the back side of the cordura. The newer vent system looks to
be better on the Sport.

Also, I'm looking to get new gloves as well. I was thinking of
getting gauntlet-style gloves, something similar to the Alpinestar
SP2, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that much on gloves just
yet, and whether the gauntlet is actually a bad idea because it will
prevent air from blowing into the jacket through the end of the
sleeve. I'm curious what gloves people have tried that they liked in
the $40-$80 range, keeping in mind that most of my riding is in
rather warm weather.

Wind up my sleeve is my last need. That means that my wrists would be
exposed quickly to get rashed up in just about any fall. That's just me
though. All my gloves, but one rather old, and thin, pair of Fieldsheers
are gauntlet.
