Re: [ST] valve shims and throttle bodies



Hey Shawn,

If you have an '02 ST, that would be the newer 955 engine which uses the 
'shim under bucket' setup, and this means you DO NOT use the valve shim 
removal tool -- you have no option but to pull the cams if shims need 
replacing.

The 'work around' on running the bike with the tank off is to just go ahead 
and do it.  The kit just lengthens cables and hoses for convenience.  I 
haven't done it yet, but I understand it is possible to set the tank either 
crosswise across the seat area (seat removed and tank suitably protected), 
or on a nearby table, and still hook everything up.  I understand that the 
kit is pretty pricey for what it is, and hard to justify unless you run a 
shop.
