Re: [ST] Martha Stewart

Hey John - I wasn't comparing the 'crimes' at all (and I did a poor job of
explaining that...) I was merely saying that Stewart was dead and buried
to most people when she was convicted and went to jail but when she came
out, for some totally unknown reason other than the cult of 'personality',
she was suddenly a media darling all over again - in fact she is on TV
(PUKE !!) more now than she was before. It's almost as if the conviction
HELPED her career. That was my point...very poorly made.

The crimes are not even remotely comparable.

Cheers...

OK, ya kinda hit a nerve here. I agree with everthing
you have said about this asshole, and as far as I'm
concerned, they should lock him up and through away
the key. What I dont understand at all is your
comparison to Martha Stewart. This guys' stupid,
reckless, illegal actions ended up costing somebody
their life. What did Martha Stewart ever do to
anybody? In my book, she did nothing wrong, and even
if she did, it didnt hurt anybody. Dont get me wrong,
I think the woman is a bitch, and personally I dont
like her, but I respect her as a fellow investor. She
didnt do anything anyone else in her shoes wouldnt
have done...She *might* be guilty of insider trading,
but there isnt anybody in their right mind that
wouldnt do what she did. She was given information,
how it came to her is irrelevant, that one of her
holdings was about to tank. She sold it. I certainly
would have done the same, and you cant tell me anyone
would would sit there and say, "well, the way in which
we got this info was illegal, so we have to sit and
watch as our investment crumbles to dust". I dont
think so. Like I said, I dont like the woman, but I
fail to see how her situation compares at all with
this guy's....

FWIW,

John

And no, I dont have matching drapes in my house.
Matter of fact, nothing matches. Martha would be
appalled....

:-)
