Re: [ST] gas gauge accuracy



I had a long trip down to Spain last year me on my 2001 RS and a mate on a '98 pre v-tech 800 VFR.  We were both 2 up with comparable luggage but every fill up he was putting in another 1.5 to 2 litres at around 110 miles. Over nearly 3000 miles of 2 up 90-100 mph cruising mine averaged just over 50 mpg. I was pretty chuffed to say the least.
