[St] Bagster tank protector

I snagged a Bagster tank protector on flea-bay and I am trying to fit it and
I have a fitting question.  The front and rear straps on the protector are
self-explanatory.  How do the 2 straps on the side fit ?  Are you meant to
un-fasten the fairing brackets and install the look on the end of the strap
using the bolt or do you just hook then onto the outside of the bolt ?  (If
that makes sense :)

Anybody have any experience fitting a Bagster.

BTW...it's for a 2002.

Any help is appreciated.
