Re: [St] Brake Troubles

Rich,

So go ride! Your front brake still works, doesn't it???

Subject: [St] Brake Troubles

I went to take my RS up the road for fuel and while rolling down my driveway, NO REAR BRAKE! The pedal bottomed out and no brake action. My guess is the master cylinder went, but I haven't had time to look. I did look long enough to see that there is fluid in the reservoir, and no leaks around the master that I could see. I don't know what else it could be. Not unless the caliper pistons seized.

If I have to replace the master cylinder, any ideas if there's an aftermarket part or do I need to buy OEM from a Triumph dealer?

If it's the caliper, I remember seeing threads a year or so ago about using different calipers than the Triumph OEM. Any information on that? Like make, model, part number, etc.

BTW - I'm seriously bummed because it's still in the 80's here in Florida and I want to ride. Sorry. I had to throw that in for all you people that are iced or snowed in ;-)

Rich
