obviously your mechanic is not Triumph-certified -- Triumph-branded Mobil 1
is FULL synthetic
oils that are designated as 'energy conserving' (EC) contain additives that
can potentially cause a wet clutch to slip (not 'wear out' per se), so check
the oil container carefully -- having said that I've been using Wal-Mart
Mobil 1 for years without any hint of clutch problems
it has little to do with whether the oil is semi- or full-synthetic
hopefully you have not touched off yet another oil thread -- there is PLENTY
of info out there, including in our own archives
