Re: [ST] Tell all [was: Red '99s]

Four of us went out riding this weekend. I crossed the road to fill
the tank up and two more came across to the gas station. We then
realized that we were pointed in the correct direction as per our
intended route so I pulled out of the gas station and waved at John
(the fourth) across the road to come over to our side. He didn't seem
to see. The bike was on a downslope fading away to the right so I
slipped it into neutral (I had the engine running) used my right foot
to jam the brake down and raised myself as tall as I could with my
left foot and waved energetically at John with both hands. Just then a
really strong gust of wind hit me from the left and flipped the bike
over. There wasn't time to get my right foot down and I was fairly
unstable to begin with. A small (around a foot high) retainer wall on
the right side contacted the center of the right fairing and broke it
in three places. I hit the kill switch got up and righted the Sprint.
I was unsettled by a combination of exasperation at my own stupidity
and sorrow at the damage so I let the others ride on and rattled my my
home for 40 miles. I pulled the fairing off and dumped it. The bike
doesn't look too bad with only a belly pan and nose piece but this
could be justification.
