Re: [ST] [RS] 2001 RS starter engine dead ?

Are you sure it's not the wiring from the clutch lever?

It usually is.

Hi all,

My beautiful orange 2001 RS won't start unless I have
someone push me along. Starter engine seems to be dead,
although i'm no specialist.

I'd like to have a go at fixing it myself this week-end - or
at least investigating a bit - so i'll try to pull the
starter engine out and see if it's stuck, make a few checks
for shorts... that's all i think of though.

Anyone have suggestions of tests i could run with a
multimeter ? In particular, i don't know much about the
solenoids but i suppose it might be a good idea to put them
through some testing as well...

One last point : i've found a second-hand 2004 RS starter
engine, would it fit on my 2001 ?

Thanks,

G.
