Hold on Guillaume,

If engine cranks when the solenoid terminals are shorted, the solenoid
is OK.  It can't work if it doesn't receive a signal when you push the
start button.  You need to find out why the signal is either absent or
weak.  We're back to bad interlock, broken wire and the like.  

If you don't have the RS starting/charging circuit diagram (it's on
pages 16.30 & 31 in my manual [issue 3 10.99]), let me know.
