Re: [ST] Front end vibration

I have a similar thing going on with my 05 ST.

When cornering I can feel the front wanting to shake its head (tank slap) but
its nothing violent, slight even and the bike always felt like it was
handling ok.

The other situation is when the throttle is shut off in a straight line. For
instance when travelling at 100kph, I shut the throttle and can feel the front
end wanting to shake. If I release the bars they start tank slapping, so of
course I grab hold again and all is ok. At no time has the bike felt out of
control.

I was thinking it was a result of the front tyre cupping and wearing. So I
have recently put two new tyres on (Shinko R003's) and the problem remains. I
have experimented with tyres pressures, but this makes no difference.

The only other thing I can think is that it may be suspension set up
affecting geometry. as I'm still running the stock set up with 30mm sag.

Not sure if what Gord is describing is anything similar to any of this but I
found it interesting.

Its certainly not something I have ever experienced on a motorcycle before.
