Just north of Warren, VT, take Rt 17 for a nice excursion over the
mountains. Last time I was there a couple years ago, the road was
still smooth and well-paved. There is a nice scenic overlook at the
top too.

In New Hampshire, Bear Notch Road is a very entertaining road that
cuts between Kancamangus Scenic Byway and Rt 302. Both the
Kancamangus Scenic Byway and Rt 302 west of Bear Notch Rd are worth
seeing as well. Rt 302 cuts right between the White Mountains.

I-93 through Franconia Notch state park is also beautiful, but I've
heard that the old man of the mountain has fallen down now.

Sounds like a great trip, I'm very jealous.
