I second that.  As soon as they hit the wear bars they fall off the edge of
a cliff.

Unfortunately, Yes.  I commute approx. 100 miles each day on the Strom or
the ST. Contis seemed to last a little longer before flat spotting, but when
you get to the wear bars,  keep a close watch on them.  The cords start to
show very quickly after that!!
