With regard to changing the MC, I've had conversations at length with
folks that have done this and the consensus is that it is probably a
waste of money. The stock MC does not lack for power, as evidenced by
the fact that when working properly the stock brakes are very good.
The root of this issue has always been (IMO) and continues to be with
pistons freezing in the caliper resulting in either mushy level feel or
abrupt braking response. The only real solution is to free the stuck
piston by either cleaning the calipers, bungeeing (is that a word?) the
lever or other methods that have been described recently.
So for me changing the MC to a larger diameter isn't a great way to go
about "fixing" the problem. It may allow you to free a frozen piston
more easily but I'd wager that eventually you'll find yourself right back
where you started.
Just my 2¢,
