[St] Boiled rear brake!

Halfway home on my commute the other day, the rear brake seized, boiled,
smoked... and was leaking out fluid big time.
Stripped it down today. The brake line coating (black plastic) had melted
where it meets the caliper union. There was some serious heat!
But on popping out the pistons, they are totally unmarked, the seals even look
undamaged and hold compressed air well. The bores look perfect. Even the disc
looks ok. Only detectable fault in the system is the leak in the hose. Even
the pads, which were obviously way overheated, look serviceable.
I will replace the hose, banjo bolts, banjo bolt washers, seals, and pads.
Just wondering if anyone had had a similar problem and what the cause was.
Can't really find a cause for this one.
