Sorry I have to jump on that statement.
"age has nothing to do with deterioration..."
In this case we are talking about bike helmets - if you were offered a
twenty year old top of the line Shoei that has been sitting in its box
on a shelf and not seen the light of day all that time or a brand new,
just of the production line Shoei - which would you choose?
Somehow I reckon some deterioration would have taken place.

I had a long chat with a dealer last summer when I dropped my Dianese
helmet
from a great height and replaced it with a Shark one - I asked the
question
and was told that age has nothing to so with deterioration - only how
helmets
are looked after. The manufacturers obviously would like us to believe
differently.
