Plug it and fageddaboutit...
Caveat: When I say plug, I mean either an internal
patch or a mushroom style plug, one that cant come out
on it's own...
Put a new tire on my old ST-1100 to get it ready for a
cross country trip. Less than a hundred miles and a
nail. Pissed off. Friend plugged it with Plug and Go (
TM ? ) mushroom plug. Away we went.Ran it down to the
cord. Have had a few similar experiences on different
bikes since. Even did a track day on one such tire. (
How it passed tech I dont know... )Never a problem.
Just be realistic: clean round hole, near center of
tread, etc etc....
