Re: [St] Ear phones

I'm glad you brought this up. I purchased a cheap set of Koss "The Plug"s
for a trip a few years ago. I just needed something less bulky than what I
had at home. The sound was okay, but I wasn't happy with the quality of the
foam plug and the wires were very stiff and had a strong memory. Well, I
have started to use them while riding, but that memory in the wires is
starting to drive me nuts. That, and the fact that I can't find the foam
earpieces anywhere. I've ended up using the foams from my helicopter
earphones. They work relatively well, but I think I would like to get a
proper set of earphones, since the plugs don't fit quite perfectly. I'm
glad that there have been some product names droppped in this thread; now
I've got somewhere to begin. I didn't think that earplug headphones had
become so popular.

I have a massive (massive, massive) collection of music and I want to enjoy
it on what are now becoming my relatively common long rides. And, since you
brought it up, most of MY stuff is encoded in VBR 192-320kbps MP3. I agree
that there is a slight loss of midrange, but the filesize is a bit more
reasonable.
