Re: [St] How effective are heated grips?

I bought a pair of heated gloves (First Gear - Carbon Heated Leather Gloves) recently and they are the bomb. Even riding without heated grips in below freezing temperatures (below 32 degrees) my hands stayed warm. Plus riding with only heated gloves doesn't give you the huge hand feeling you get when riding with gloves and liners.

I would not go with glove liners. I had a set of Gerbings and found that they were a real pain to put on under the gloves - I even bought a pair of outer gloves that were one size over. It took much too long to get everything on and hooked up - even though they plugged into the sleeves of my Gerbing jacket liner. Also, I found that the heating elements in the liners got pretty uncomfortable after a short time. I finally broke down and got a pair of the Gerbing heated gloves last year and feel that they are well worth the added cost over the liners.
