Re: [St] Cutting out at tickover and other things.

Rik.

I would think that before you allow the Daytona redline you might want to do some research. I seem to remember reading that the Daytona has different cam timing and forged pistons, both of which would allow safe travel to a higher redline.

I'd hate to see you grenade your motor by simply spinning it faster than the reciprocating bits can bare.

Hopefully I'm all wrong and you can just fire it up.

I have also found the way to adjust the throttle stop to get the Daytona red line.
The engine mapping is there for it, so next time I remove the tank I will have a play.

Thanks Fred

Just ordered the Tuneboy, £245.00.
Cheaper than a day off work to mess about at a dealer.
Interesting to see what the software thinks the problem is.

I don't want to change the previous mapping, off road can, triumph did the mapping at the 500 mile service.
The way it rides now is just like it did with the can before the new map.
Will let the collective know the results of my investigation.

Rik,

Here are some products:

http://www.scantool.net/

and

http://www.tuneboy.co.uk/

and many others OBDII interface.

Triumph use ISO interface (at least until 2002) because it's Europe, but if you get a multi-interface, you can analyse all the vehicles provided thay have the OBDII connector which is mandatory since a while back now.

I use personnaly the ISO scantool interface. I built mine quite some years ago.
