Re: [St] ST replacement

Dude,

Point me to those reviews, 'cause where Jermemy and I are standing (at
around 5'5"), the only bike out there for me is the Monster 696. The 675
Street triple is only .5 inches lower at the seat. Not even enough to
notice, but enough to be able to say "lower seat height."

Jeremy's point, I suspect, would be that the 1050 sized bikes would be sized
for taller people, and the 600cc sized bikes would fit us smaller folks.
Kinda makes sense. Taller people can ride shorter bikes easier than shorter
people can ride taller bikes.

My point would be that there are plenty of options for taller people. Get a
Tiger, for example. But not very many for us shorter folks. Certainly not
options w/ any power or performance. Heck, the Kawi 650 twins are too tall
for me!

The Dirt Bike world is even worse. Imagine yourself a Japaneese motorcycle
designer, and trying to test a CR125 which has the exact same seat height as
a CR250 or a CR500. "Just Box 'em up, boys, and ship them to the land of
giants!"

So, I'm stuck w/ an under powered, under suspended late 80's designed
"modern" dirt bike (crf230) that can be trashed by a 12 year old on a CR85.

BTW, I TOTALLY agree w/ you on the comfort thing. For me, the ST was too
long (short arms) for comfort. I want a Street Triple (or SV650) w/ its
tall regular bars, add a full faring and hard bags. Now, that would be
comfortable.

The Monster 695 has been the most confortable for me so far. I'm excited to
see the new 696 here at the local dealer.
