[St] NM to TX Route

Hey Jack,

We are going to break 'm in and ride'm.! Hopefully we can join you and Bird Dawg in the fall for a trip to the great roller coaster that is Arkansas. As for returning from Albuquerque, the plan, subject to the advice of New Mexico residents, is to cut down through a little town called Chilili and on down to Hwy 60, I believe, which goes into Clovis and turns into 84 on the Texas side. This way we avoid that section of I-40 east of Albuquerque. I've been on that once before and have never felt so windblown on a motorcycle, between the crosswinds and the eighteen wheeler wash!! I literally was afraid of being tossed into the next lane by the next gust! We'll head through Lubbock and down to Sweetwater where we will probably spend the night. Then it will be down through Brownwood, Goldthwaite, over to the Hwy 6 through Bryan/College Station, to Navasota, and into Tomball "the back way." It should be somewhere between 850-900 miles. If we don't change oil in Sweetwater, the bikes will be parked until Richard gets it done, and since we'll be out to town over Memorial Day weekend, it will probably be the weekend of the 31st before we're back on the bikes.

Lisa
