Re: [St] Digital speedo reads 0 on Sprint RS

Append to me. Turn out one of the alternator phases was toasted.

Let's double check the voltage out of the three phase of the alternator
while running, just to be sure. Do not disconnect. Voltage measured phase to phase (delta mounting).

Sometimes I can go a few miles, stop/start the bike and it is fine.

Think this is the same thing?"

On my 2002 RS, this problem was solved by replacing the battery.? My dealer informed me the battery was going bad.? I had been cleaning and tightening the battery >terminals trying to solve the problem where the digital speedo would not budge from 0 on some trips.? Yes, sometimes stopping the engine and restarting would solve the >problem temporarily, but once I replaced the battery it has never happened again.??? I figure the computer needs a certain reference voltage from the wheel sensor to >successfully "boot up" when you turn the ignition switch on, and it just wasn't getting it consistently.?
