Re: [St] St Digest, Vol 42, Issue 2- ST not starting

Thanks guys,
The bike is in neutral hecked light and rear wheel rotation.Checked with a multimeter the side stand switch.
Also the kill switch, this when operated stops all the electrical parts from working an easy one to work out,
And you have to pull in the clutch lever to start at any time.
No one has mentioned the crank sensor, inside the clutch cover.

I did!

Has anyone had trouble with this? and what faults do they cause?

trouble code is P0335 for: defect in crank shaft sensor system. and P1335 for defect in the sensor indented wheel or the shielded cable.

The complete investigation process is described in the workshop manual.

They indicate in a first place:
display frozen data w/ the diagnostic tool
then check the mounting of the sensor, the connector being
properly plugged, and the gap that should be 1mm.
Check for damaged teeth and for magnetic debris (iron filings).

After that point, they enter the electrical checkings after unplugging
the ecm connector.

I had that on my car 4 years ago. That didn't triggered the check engine light and there was no codes, but it was not the same vehicle though. It turns out
it was iron filings on the sensor. After removing that it fired up immediately.

Hope you sort that out quick.

Fred

Thanks
John
