Re: [St] Speed

I always wonder about these GPS units that record max speed. It could be used against you if the cop was savvy. I used to shoot video from a tank bag mounted camcorder. It shot thru the winsheild and the video was framed on the bottom by the speedo and tach. It was really cool, but I often wondered what would happen if I got popped. I havent done it in a while. I didnt stop because of that, rather my equipment got old and I didnt have the time to mix and edit the raw footage afterward....

That's the question I keep repeating in my head. Remember, 7-10%
optimistic means that 10+ mph at 150... So when you see 160 on the
clocks, you MIGHT be doing 150. GPS is nice and will give you better
accuracy than the speedo. However, radar is pretty darn good at
recording speed. I suggest we find someplace where its "safe" to run

the bike as fast as it can go (like Bonneville maybe?) and get it on
radar. Then we'll know "for sure." Of course, rider size and
other
factors will vary the top speed a bit too...
