No, no, no, you've got it all wrong.  Light does not weigh anything, so 
absorbing light does not increase weight.  Light is energy (E=hv), so
absorbing more light means having more energy!  That's why black is faster.
Also, black is a better black-body emitter, which means it radiates heat
better, which results in lower engine temperatures at high output levels.

Geez, you red guys.
