Triumph RAT Rally and Demos in Park City, Utah

The following information was taken from a press release and the web site
regarding the upcoming "Motorcycle Week" to take place in Park City, Utah
September 16-19, 1999. This is the same Motorcycle Week that occurred in
Steamboat Springs, CO last year (and for 17 years before that) and,
according to Travis Milner, will be the site of the "regional" RAT rally
(Triumph is not having a "national" RAT rally this year. only "regional"
rallies) Triumph is scheduled to have its showcase truck there and will
hold demo rides:

"Park City, UT--Thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to converge
on this mountain resort town September 16-19, 1999, when the Park City
Motorcycle Club and the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association
(AHRMA) hosts four days of racing on the streets and in the hills of Park
City, Utah.
Park City will host the annual event, which has been presented in the past
18 years in the town of Steamboat, Colorado. The inaugural Park City
Motorcycle Week will feature four different AHRMA national championship
series competitions including the Speed & Sport Vintage Motocross Series,
The Classic Bike Magazine Dirt Tract Series, the Speed & Sport Vintage
Trials Series and the week's premiere event, the Progressive Suspension
Historic Cup Series Road Race. More than 1,000 competitors from the U.S.
and abroad are expected to participate in the event.
The road race will take place over a 1.8 mile course through Park City,
circling the first nine holes of the town's municipal golf course. The
trials and motocross events will be contested on the slopes of Park City
Mountain Resort while the dirt track racing will be held in nearby Heber.
In addition, the event will feature a Concour d'Elegance, dual sport a
escorted motorcycle rides, extreme trials demonstration, a motorcycle art
exhibit at the Kimble Art Center, Saturday night barbeque and concert, and
vendor expo. . . .For more general information, including lodging packages,
please call the Park City Chamber & Visitor Bureau at (800) 453-1360 or
check out the web site at www.parkcitymotorcycle.org."

Be sure to check out the web site because it has a whole lot more
information on all of the events and rides. Harley, Ducati and Buell will
also be exhibiting as well as a number of vendors.
My plan to ride up from central Texas several days before (with the wife
flying into Salt Lake City to meet me).
If anyone would like to ride up together, please contact me direct at
westcott@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Hope to see other Triumph riders.
