Re: Chase Harper bags

Franz,

Here's some feedback

1) My Chase Harper "European Tour Saddlebags" are non-leather, made of
Cordura nylon (my catalogue did not list them as CH3300) but I think we are
talking about the same set of bags.

2) Have already ridden two up with the bags on. The Velcro straps that sit
across the seat are very flat and didn't bother my passenger.

3) No---- the right hand bag sits right above the pipe --- I did a several
thousand mile trip with them and there was no problem with exhaust heat or a
hot pipe.

4) I have not tried fixing the bags by placing the straps under the seat,
but I imagine several problems. First, the drop in height might cause the
right bag to contact with the upswept exhaust pipe. Second I'm not sure if
the seat would 'snap' shut, and third, because there really isn't a problem
with the passenger sitting on the straps, I wouldn't bother (placing the
straps under the seat also creates a problem for quickly removing and
replacing the bags on the bike).

Hope that helps, Lance
