The missus made it clear after I vanished on a long solo ride

She was smoked and declared that I am not now nor am I ever to become " A
motorcycling playboy".
Question: I have been following the break in procedure fairly accurately and
have also run up the motor to higher rpm's slowly once or twice ( or thrice,
but that's all) as mentioned here on the list, but unfortunately I missed a
shift and ringed the snot out of the motor to about 9500.I was on the was up
a steep hill and on the gas a bit. Have I fried the motor? Should I buy a
Bandit tomorrow? I seem to find those false neutrals quite regularly, and as
you can see by my other bike, I am used to the
gigantic-lever-swing-positive-shifting technique. I suppose miles and break
in will cure all those sodding neutrals?
Also, I notice quite a bit of chafing and squeaking going on from my clutch
cable where it passes in front of the frame... Fixes, aomments anyone?
Finally, I was up at the Overlook above Lake Elsinore on a Sunday, and saw a
black Daytona pulling out of the parking lot as I was pulling in. It sounded
real healthy, and was obviously ridden by someone out to promote the image
of motorcyclists. He pulled right into traffic and passed a couple of cars
over the double yellow line at what sounded like 10,000 rpm. I know someone
else on the list mentioned this character, but as we are not privy to a
searchable archive (yet), I am forced to ask the list who it was, where if
there was a searchable archive, I would not waste this bandwidth. =)
