To tell you the truth I thought exactly the same thing when I first saw a 
picture of the RS.
But after seeing it live I must agree with Triumph's designers... the black 
frame gives the bike a muscular look.
Perhaps the polished frame would be more elegant combined with darker 
colors, like blue, black and red (as on the ST).
