I may be a little late on this reply--- but I'd stay away from a tank bra
unless you are really fastidious.  The open margin of the bra tends to trap
dirt which then acts like a fine abrasive, unless you remove and clean it
after every ride --- and most people I know, start to get lazy.  I ruined a
nice paint job on a previous bike, leaving on a bra and entire season
thinking it was protected.

Another, and I think, much better option is to contact Eric, or get ahold of
a 3M product called invincashield.  It is a tough clear film --- basically
an invisible decal that you can cut to size (Eric made a bunch of templates
and sent them out with bulk orders from other members of the group).  I
found a roll of the stuff for $65 at an auto detailing specialty store and
went nuts with the stuff making templates for spots all of the bike which
would be subject to abrasion ----- its great stuff.
