Not due to the grips - but rather the bike. At the time I bought mine they 
had a set for older sprints (pre 99) and for T5's (595/955i and the 509).

Unlike the T5 series, the ST has tapped ends (vs hollow) so the T5 set 
won't work. I got the one designated for the old Sprint, but by this time 
they may have re-labelled it for all Sprints.

When using it with the heated grips the only difference I found was that 
the "contact ring" that comes with the kit is not needed (due to the design 
of the grips)
