Re: Valve Info

Duner,
The valves are shim on bucket; you will need access to shims from a Triumph
dealer if they need to be changed unless shims from something else fits,
maybe someone else with 509/595 experience could provide that answer. You
will also need the valve shim removal tool ($75 P/N T3880012) unless the
dealer intends to remove the cams to do the job, which is the recommended
method if more than one needs adjustment according to my dealer. The
clearances (cold of course) are inlet 0.10-0.15 mm and exhaust 0.15-0.20
mm. and just to make sure that I don't ever get caught up in that NM vs. Ft
Lb thing again inlet (intake) 0.004 - 0.006 inches exhaust 0.006 - 0.008
inches. My conversion really shows .0039, .0059 and .0078, but I think the
standard american conversions are adequate. Let me know how this goes, I am
planning on checking mine at 6,000 too and would like to know if the dealer
thinks it is a hard job or pretty straight forward.
