Re: Brakes

I had the same problem; brake lever travel went from 1" to 2" or more.  I tried bleeding the system and it helped for a short time.  When changing the tyres the mechanic helped me examine the front brake caliper and it transpired that one of the four calipers was stuck in the withdrawn position and not 'deploying' against the pad when the lever was activated - freeing the stuck piston restored the 1" travel, but within the last 1000km on the new tyres it has once again frozen. I have asked my dealer to fix this under warranty - probably just a lack of copper grease or whatever is supposed to lubricate the piston action.

ps. I never tried the 'magic mushroom' fairing protectors after comments from friends and other lists that they are a waste of money, and can damage the frame during a crash.
