I broke the throttle-back-braking habit (cars behind you don't see your
brake light and you are slowing much faster than you appear). Do I need to
break the no clutch habit as well? Does anyone clutch their bike often? I
am from the dirt school and I only use the clutch when shifting to neutral
or double shifting. Occasionally, I will clutch across neutral (when lined
up to a poser on a bike... gotta love those guys in fresh unscathed
leathers).

You will want to break that habit quickly. You are risking injury.
Repetitive Stress Syndrome and the dreaded torn tendons of death spring to
mind. Also, if you have a death grip before an accident you risk serious
motorcycle ending injuries. Many a guy has ripped that thumb holding onto
the handlebars too tight. Knees hurt, shoulders suck, but hands can ruin
you for life.
