Mine had too much slack to begin with as well - was so far off that if I
need to adjust it anymore, I will be forced to pull the tank to get to the
other end.

bummer - the guy that bought my old Sprint picked up a nail on his way home
- - got a new tire - and picked up two more nails a week later .... the tire
companies really love him...

That makes perfect sense and would explain the faster gauge decline on the
bottom half of the tank of gas, but does not go to explain why after 120
miles of riding my gauge still shows "full" or why it takes 20 minutes of
riding after the fill up for the fuel light to go off. Do you find that
your gauge is dropping all along or does it take close to 100 miles before
it drops under the full mark?

Hopefully Triumph realizes now that it is more than just a few isolated
problems.
