RE: Introduction and Buzzing Noise

Eric Ventured:

I'm only guessing, but I would assume that the system runs continuously
and
that you only hear it initially as it has to build up pressure but once
you
start running it comes on, but a much lower level (which I don't hear
while
riding on mine BTW).

My question now is this ...

Is the constant sound you hear a noisy pump ?
or
Is the sound you're hearing the constant running of the system trying to
pressurize a system that has a leak ?

It would make sense that if your system was not pressurizing, the system
would run indefinitely (at the normal start up volume level) as it
attempts
to build up sufficient pressure, but due to the leak, it would never
reach
the shutoff point.

Again - I'm only guessing - anyone else have a better guess ?

It could be, I suppose. My thought would be, though, that a fuel leak
would be something you'd notice. Dripping under the bike or at least a
smell of gas (I keep it in a garage and I think I'd be able to smell
it).

I would also think there would be some performance problems. Mine seems
to be running fine (any finer would be downright scary).

I'll keep the list updated about what happens with the swap.
