Re: st-digest V1999 #84



I agree with you Dennis.  I want the best (i.e., recommended by Triumph)
oil, tires, etc. on my Triumph.  It's wonderful to hear that someone  went
150,000 + miles  on their HondaKawaSuzumaha using J.C. Whitney oil filters
and "whatever was on sale" oil from Walmart.  When I owned a Honda ST1100 a
few of the members at the rallies would proclaim with great pride how they
would use the cheapest oil on sale at K-Mart and only change oil filters
every other oil change.  You'd look at their bikes and almost always those
bikes would be the most abused, ugliest clunkers in the parking lot.
I don't want to trust my skin going 100+ miles per hour on a precision
machine using the cheapest parts I could find.  But hey, to each his own.
That's what makes this sport great.
