David!!!!

Stop!!!! Don't touch that K1200RS. I rode one for two weeks on an =
Edelweiss Alps trip through some of the best twisties on the planet. =
This is a gorgeous piece of German machinery, but its too long for the =
twisties and too heavy. The windscreen is useless in the 'up' position =
and the damn thing burns oil like its going out of style ---- the only =
time I enjoyed this bike was on the Autobahn, where it pulled, and =
pulled and pulled, and pulled like a freight train. Most of the people =
whom I know, who have ridden this bike keep trying to figure out why BMW =
built it. It just doesn't fit very well in any niche (I happened to =
borrow a friend's R1100GS for an afternoon on this trip while he rode =
the K1200RS----- it was unbelievable how I spanked his ass in the =
twisties on the GS and he couldn't catch me until we hit the straights). =
The Sprint does everything the BMW wishes it could do, and with much =
less weight.

Just my .04 worth,

Lance

    Hi David,=20
I can understand your frustration, but it really pisses me off that =
you are being denied a truly wonderful riding experience. I hope that =
things go well for you, and I would also suggest you take a look at =
another Triumph dealer before making your final decision. I am so happy =
to have the bike I own, that I'm thinking "How pissed will Dave be if he =
buys the Beemer, THEN rides a Sprint ST and learns what he is missing?" =
My opinion, at any rate.

I would also post the name of the dealer who has kept you dangling, =
so others will at least be aware of how he treats customers, or =
potential customers, as in your case.

    Best of luck!=20

Well, this will be my last post to this list. so I'm going to look =
at a slightly used K1200rs Thursday and if I decide I don't want it I =
look at the Sprint ST in Dallas.

Anyway, I've enjoyed the list very much and appreciate all the help, =
