I've never used the SS (Super Sticky? ;-) variant myself, but I know
they've been available. They are marketed over here as sticky rubber
for track fiends. I'm on my second BT56 rear; the first lasted just
under 4,500 miles and this one looks like it's going to do the same.
The front has been on for nearly 9,000 miles and, er, I haven't checked
it recently...

I tried a BT57 rear thinking that it would last longer than the BT56
and therefore be a better bet for a long trip. It did last longer - by
a whole 300 miles! Okay, so the last thousand miles were mainly
autobahn and taken at an average (repeat, average) speed of over 80mph.

The BT56s gave enough grip to get both pegs and the right hand side of
the belly pan down at the Nuerburgring - how much more grip does the
bike need?

I'm likely to go for Metzeler MeZ4s, Pirelli Dragon GTSs or maybe Avon
Azaros next time around. On my Super III (old shape Daytona) Azaro
rears lasted about 4,500 miles (fronts about 7,000 miles); the last set
of tyres I put on the bike were MeZ4s on and they were still going
strong at 4,500 miles when I sold the bike.

	Is this really surprising? ;-)
