RE: radar detector

folks,
An idea for you guys and gals would be a place that is not directly
visible including the power cable. with the power cable you should have an
on off switch, say the headlight switch rigged for power to the detector.
I realize that it restricts your range of detection but some
remotely mounted sensors from the detector would work just fine and can be
concealed quite well.
In CA it is illegal to have a detector and you can't even buy them
assembled in some areas so if you buy one dis-assembled you could build it
to your own spec with sensor in one area and detector in another.

Just ideas...
Martin

Peter,

It should work through the map pocket, but several friends have mounted
their's on top of the map pocket. I'm not sure of the technology available
in Australia, but I believe that there are at least two states (someone
correct me if I'm wrong), in the U.S. (I believe that Viriginia is one of
them), where radar detectors are illegal and can be confiscated if you are
stopped with them. The police units carry radar detector detectors.
Valentine swears that they have built in radar detector detector circuitry
that will 'cloak' it from detection. I'd seriously consider giving customer
service a call and asking them in detail about this feature.

>G'day All
>Thanks for the responses to where you can hide a detector and sorry for not
responding sooner, I've been away for a quick holiday. Whilst away I've been
checking out some tank bags for hiding the detector. My questions today is.
1/ Does the Valentine 1 work inside the map pocket or do you velcro it to
the top? 2/ Do the police (particularly in Australia) have any way of
knowing if you have a detector on board? I heard somewhere that they have
detector detectors.
