Have you had the engine bolt recall service performed?    I had the same oil
leak by the right side of my oil cooler.  when the bike went in to have the
engine bolts replaced under warranty the oil leak through the oil cooler
stopped ---- I sensed that the leak was actually coming from the engine
case, i.e., problem with the engine bolts.

It is NOT "normal" ST behavior.  Have your dealer check it out.
