frothy oil?
Hello,
Sorry to go on about possible coolant probs after my calmer missives
yesterday evening, but I was wondering if any amount of froth in the oil,
whilst the engine is in operation, is abnormal? (disappearing after a couple
of minutes or so when stopped)
Unfortunately I didn't check yesterday exactly how much coolant the dealer's
mechanic added, but today it is (still/again) below the minimum. I looked
through the oil level window with the engine warmed up and noticed a couple
of mms of froth on top of the oil (which itself looks normal). As I say,
after a very few minutes the froth disappears. I'm just wondering if hot,
agitated oil is "allowed" to be a little frothy, or if any froth at all is a
symptom that all is not well?
The bike will rest over the weekend but on Monday I'll get the coolant level
up to maximum myself, then keep a more "measured" eye on what gives, if
anything...
Thanks again, sorry if I sound a little stressed again!
