RE: st-digest V1999 #226 (Fuel gauge)

Last I wrote, my gas guage was "stuck" on full, just over the 1 mark. My dealer put in a new software download that he said would fix it. Triumph Tune #1007. The gas guage did come alive immediately. I had about 75 miles on the tankfull at the time and the guage read about 3/4. Looked good. I thought all was well.

I rode the bike the next day until it was almost empty. The guage behaved rationally and decreased smoothly until it hit the red zone at about 205 trip miles. The light came on as expected. So far, so good.

I pulled in and filled up. (Bike on the side stand.) The gas was right up to the top. As I rode away, the guage was slowly rising - heavily damped, I suspected. It never did get to the full mark. Instead, it would rise to about 7/8 and then slowly fall to about 5/8. I was taking about 5 to 10 minutes to cycle up and down.

I still only have about 25 miles on that fill -up. I am wondering if the guage will get back to normal again after about 75 miles go by....
